A Florida man won’t get a passing grade for smarts.
Robert Phillips, 25, of West Palm Beach, was arrested Tuesday after officers say he nearly caused an accident with an unmarked police cruiser, according to The Palm Beach Post. He listed “drug dealer” as his occupation on the arrest report.
A detective followed Phillips and watched as he engaged in a drug deal, according to The Post. A background check found the car he was driving was stolen.
As deputies in marked cars caught up to Phillips, he sped away and eventually pulled into the parking lot of a hobby shop and ran inside. He knocked over a female customer while fleeing out the back door and dropped his handgun, police say.
Police found $2,316 in cash and 22 grams of heroin on Phillips, the arrest report said.
Phillips, who has been incarcerated more than a dozen times, faces a myriad of charges, including carrying a concealed weapon, possession of cocaine and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, according to The Post.
Perhaps it’s time to find a new line of work.
