‘She knows how to shoot’: Pizza worker inspired by her father fights off armed robbery

After a string of recent robberies, including her own father, an Arkansas woman decided to arm herself for her own protection.

And it’s a good thing she did.

A short two months after her father was robbed at the same Domino’s Pizza where she works, Sarah Cherry faced three armed robbers wearing hoodies, according to The Daily Caller.

In a phone interview with the conservative website, Sarah’s father, Clint Cherry, said his daughter, a former Army military police officer, scared the bandits off when she fired three shots at them.

“When she shot, they took off,” the senior Cherry said. “And then she followed them out the door to see where they were going. She might have said a few choice words too.”

He said there were several other employees in the store at the time, explaining that his daughter “was defending [them] more than herself.”

“She knows how to shoot,” dad added. “She could have hit them if she wanted to.”

The Daily Caller reported that Domino’s corporate policy prohibits employees from carrying guns at work, so it remains to be seen whether Cherry will face any consequences for her heroic actions.

While aware of a possible conflict, Cherry’s father encouraged her to carry the firearm.

“I told her, ‘I said, use it to protect yourself,’” he said. “We lose our job, we lose our job, but we’re going to protect ourselves.”

Whether Cherry gets fired will be up to the franchisee who owns the store, a spokesman for Domino’s corporate office said.

“The corporate office has no authority in making personnel decisions for independent business owners,” Tim McIntyre, senior vice president of corporate communications told The Daily Caller.
