More assassination attempts on cops in 24 hrs, ‘presidential leadership would be nice right about now’

Police officers are coming under attacks around the country — including two shootings in Los Angeles in 24 hours.

While the president vacations in Hawaii, reports from coast to coast are being called in on law enforcement officers being shot at by thugs in their police cars or killed responding to disturbances.

Where is President Obama? Where is the attention to these incidents like Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown or Eric Garner. Where are the TV press conferences? Where is the leadership?

In Durham, N.C., local station WRAL reported a police officer dove for cover Thursday night after a man walked up and began shooting.  According to police, Officer J.T. West was sitting in his patrol car, working on a report, when he saw two men approaching his car from behind. As West got out of the car to speak to them, one of the men pulled out a gun and began firing. The man fired six shots at West, striking the patrol car once.

A similar, frightening scene played out in Los Angeles just Tuesday morning when two police officers were shot at by two men.

Additionally, there was an attack on police early yesterday morning.

In Tampa, Fla., deputies monitoring traffic at an intersection, shot at three times. According to the TampaBay.com, neither of them were hit or injured. This shooting followed the burial of Officer Charles Kondek, who was killed on Dec 21 in the line of duty
