There are few things that get CNN as excited as a missing plane.
In fact one of the station’s top reporters, Don Lemon, received a DART Award from Columbia Journalism Review for some of the worst journalism of 2014 in part for postulating that Malaysia Flight 370 — which disappeared in March — may have been swallowed by a black hole.
So in light of AirAsia Flight QZ8501 going missing Sunday, the Twitterverse is begging CNN to not go into a missing flight frenzy this time.

@cnnbrk @Montel_Williams @CNN your obsessive coverage of one thing is annoying remember others things are happening in the world

It is. It really is.

Love that @CNN‘s go-to for aviation is Quest, who was busted for meth in Central Park w/ a rope tied to his genitals. http://t.co/ullYGP6b6L

Nothing says aviation expert like tying a rope to your genitals.
Tragic. Has CNN investigated a possible black hole yet? @cnnbrk: AirAsia Flight 8501 lost contact w/ air traffic con http://t.co/sCIPxqrSfb”

Fear not. Lemon is on it.
How many times can @cnnbrk @CNN report that a plane went down? Is there not any other news, instead of saying the same thing over & over!
— Virginia Velazquez (@SportsGirlVA) December 28, 2014
Can’t wait to see @CNN play with holograms and toy-sized airplanes nonstop for the next 2 weeks #QZ8501
