As the nation mourns the deaths of two New York City police officers gunned down because of the uniforms they wore, Al Sharpton held a news conference to play the victim yet again, saying he has received several death threats.

Before the officers’ blood could be washed from the street, the shameless race hustler was already backtracking, issuing a statement on Saturday saying he is “outraged” at the shootings and that it would be “reprehensible” to tie the officers’ deaths to Michael Brown and Eric Garner.
The MSNBC host also reminded the world that he has always called for peaceful protests.
Standing before reporters Sunday, flanked by Garner’s wife and mother, Sharpton played an expletive-filled voicemail of the alleged threats, according to the New York Post.
“The language is ‘Hey N word, stop killing innocent people, I’m going to get you,” and I have several like this,” he said. “We are now under intense threat from those that are misguided, by those that are trying to blame everyone from civil rights leaders to the mayor rather than deal with an ugly spirit that all of us need to fight.”

In a scathing indictment published Monday on FrontPage Magazine, Daniel Greenfield said this is typical of Sharpton, who made his name leading lynch mobs.
“Sharpton is doing what he always does best: Playing provocateur and then trying to wash his hands of the consequences,” Greenfield wrote. “Al never kills anyone. He just riles up the mob and someone in the mob does the dirty work.”
As might be expected, the “All about Al” spectacle did not go over too well on social media. Here are a sampling of responses, as seen on Twitter:

Note that the ‘death threat’ was left on Sharpton’s personal cellphone…’cuz, like, um, ya know, everyone has Rev Al’s private number. — Sophie Ro (@SophieRo3) December 22, 2014
