Violent, obscenity-filled racial clash ends in injuries, arrests outside Rams stadium

Note: Strong language ahead.

A violent, obscenity-filled clash broke out Sunday in St. Louis as Rams fans leaving Edward Jones Dome were confronted by demonstrators still protesting the police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., in August.

The melee broke out about 3 p.m. when yelling between the mainly white fans and black protesters reached the point of punches being thrown, a protester spitting on a fan, and a struggle over an American flag, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

One woman (white) was punched in the face for shouting “let’s go Rams” at the protesters. She was treated at the scene, the Post-Dispatch reported. Another person was injured but details were unavailable.

Two of the protesters were arrested, according to KSDK: a 49-year-old woman and her 17-year-old daughter

Check out the video here, from the Post-Dispatch. Again, there’s plenty of strong language being used.
