Real estate mogul Donald Trump single-handedly read millions of American minds when he asked comic buffoon Russell Brand what his singer star ex-wife ever saw in him.
The pair was going toe to toe on social media recently, when Trump said he watched Brand on Jimmy Fallon’s show and wondered what Katy Perry was thinking when she married him, speculating that she must have been drunk.
Former CNN host, Piers Morgan, who was recently hired as Editor-at-Large for the Daily Mail Online, decided to insert himself into the fray when he used his column to offer an opinion.
“Now, I like Brand personally and enjoy his splendidly linguistic comedic romps on the airwaves as much as anyone,” Morgan wrote. “For someone with little formal education, he’s incredibly bright and funny. But this whole ‘revolution’ he’s trying to wage is a load of old sanctimonious hog-wash.”
Though Morgan said he “thoroughly enjoyed” watching the tête-à-tête between Trump and Brand, he managed to pick a winner.
“Whereas Trump is supremely comfortable in his own skin, fame and wealth, Brand wants us to believe he’s now trapped in the vice-like grip of a tormented celebrity-loathing freedom fighter.” Morgan said. “The bottom line is that if I were to be stuck on a desert island with either Brand or Trump, I’d choose Trump any day.”

Brand retorted to Trump’s criticism by asking if he was drunk when he wrote his tweets or whether the spray on his bald head made him high.

Brand then said Trump’s success can only be attributed to his father’s huge inheritance.

That’s when Trump posted a video asking Perry if she was drunk when she married Brand, calling the comedian a loser.
