Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy is back in the news, hoping to get public attention with his appearance in a campaign ad that has him challenging U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to come pay him a visit.
In a video appearance with Kamau Bakari, an Independent American Party candidate in Nevada, Bundy responded to Holder’s allegation that, when it comes to race, America is “a nation of cowards.”
The rancher captured the nation’s attention earlier this year by making a stand against the federal government over the use of public land. Supporters, and the media, couldn’t turn away from him fast enough, though, when a video surfaced of Bundy making questionable comments about blacks.

Bakar’s awkward campaign ad is over two minutes long, and it’s not likely to be aired on television.
“I know black folks have a had a hard time with slavery, and, you know, the government was in on it,” Bundy says in the spot. “And the government’s in on it again. I worked my whole life without mistreating anybody. A man ought to be able to express himself without being called names.”
“I hear you, Cliven, and I believe you,” Bakari responds. “A brave white man like you might be just what we need to put an end to this political correctness stuff in America.”
At Bakari’s urging, Bundy calls Holder out.
“Mr. Holder, this is one white man who’s not scared to talk about race,” Bundy says in the ad. “I dare you to come to Las Vegas and talk to us.”
“And don’t give us that you’re too busy stuff,” Bakari, an African-American, chimes in. “You weren’t too busy to go to Ferguson, Mo.”
If Holder does go to Las Vegas, he should launch an immediate investigation into what these two men did with the money their parents gave them for acting lessons.
