Why Chris Christie told NAACP he would rather commit suicide than be a US Senator

Outspoken NJ Governor Chris Christie has again made headlines. This time asserting that he would rather commit suicide than be a U.S. Senator.

At an NAACP meeting this weekend outspoken NJ Governor Chris Christie said he would “walk into the Potomac River and drown” if he had to serve in the Senate reported the NY Post.

Although he said he wont decide on a possible presidential run until early next year he seems to have positively ruled out a run at the Senate.

“I would be bored to death. Can you imagine me banging around that chamber with 99 other people? Asking for a motion on the amendment in the subcommittee? Forget it,” Christie said at the gathering in Parsippany, NJ.

“It would be over, everybody. You’d watch me just walk out and walk right into the Potomac River and drown,” said Christie. “That’d be it.”

Christie made the statement in an effort to insist that he means it when he says he would never run for public office in NJ again.

The meeting between Governor Christie and the NAACP was his first as governor of the Garden State.

NAACP New Jersey branch president categorized the meeting as “a long overdue dialogue between your office and our organization.”
