The Anchorage Police released a report Thursday suggesting there is some truth to the rumors that Sarah Palin‘s family was involved in an altercation last month, and that daughter Bristol Palin does indeed pack a punch.

Liberals dubbed the fight the “Thrilla in Wasilla” — the “drunken brawl” occurred in Anchorage but facts seldom get in the way when the left is establishing a good narrative. Yet, the police report indicates the Palin family may have been put in an untenable situation where they had no choice but to defend themselves.

Sarah Palin’s son Track, who had blood around his mouth and on his hands, told an officer “some guys were talking rudely to his sisters, making them cry,” and that someone “sucker-punched” a family friend, knocking him to the ground, The Associated Press reported.

Details are sketchy, but it appears things escalated when four guys jumped Todd Palin as he went to help the friend up, which prompted Track to step in.

According to the Associated Press, the officer wrote that Todd said it was at that point when “everything escalated, and it was a situation they couldn’t walk away from.”

As for Bristol’s role, she told police a woman had pushed sister Willow, and when she moved to intervene the homeowner where the party was being held threw her to the ground and called her derogatory names. Bristol then got up and allegedly punched the guy in the mouth — repeatedly!

Sarah Palin has not made any public statements on the incident, but posted a message on her Facebook wall a couple of weeks later about “my kids’ defense of family.”

“I love my Bristol!” she wrote “My straight-shooter is one of the strongest young women you’ll ever meet. I have to say this as a proud mama: right up there with their work ethic and heart for those less fortunate, my kids’ defense of family makes my heart soar!”
