‘Horrific’: Rush Limbaugh’s gatekeeper ‘Snerdley’ gets VERY real about liberalism in black America

Being Rush Limbaugh’s producer for more than a quarter century has made James Golden one of the best known people most Americans have never seen.

Being an outspoken black conservative makes him the kind of person too few Americans get a chance to see.

But in an interview last week with the Daily Caller, Golden made it easy to see why he’s the trusted wingman of the most influential voice in American radio.

With an assured confidence that rivals his boss’s, the man better known as “Snerdley” covered a wide range of topics, from the state of blacks in the country today, to the “outreach” Republicans occasionally try to extend to black voters, to what it’s like working for Rush Limbaugh.

The whole interview is worth checking out here – it’s a half-hour well spent.

But here’s a sampling:

On the current state of black America:

Golden said the years of “progress” since the civil rights era have been almost the opposite.

“I think it’ a shame that for most black people, the good old days were days when things were segregated legally … when two-parent families were the norm in the black community … What liberalism has done to the black community has been horrific …”

On conservatives in the black community:

“Most black people live their lives as conservatives. A lot of them voter liberal …. because that’s the way they came up.”

Golden said his mother told him that her friends would ask, “What happened to you?”

“What happened to me was that I listened to what you and Dad taught me … The bigger question is, what happened to you guys? Why are you voting for these people who are against everything that you raised us?”

On black hostility to Republicans:

“Message to black America: There are no Republicans in your neighborhood. They left years ago. They’re not there. They’re not to blame for your problems.

“Your problems are the people that let the black criminals out so they come back into your neighborhood and kill your mother, your father, your daughters, that rape your daughters, your mother. Those are the people that are causing your problems.”

On Republican “outreach” to black voters:

“Every election cycle they come up with 10 million bucks or so and say ‘we’re gonna do outreach, meaning ‘we’re gonna reach over in that neighborhood that we’re not in there and touch one or two of you darkies because we don’t understand you people and we think we want to help …

On working for Rush Limbaugh:

“He’s a broadcaster, first and foremost. People tend to forget that. And as a broadcaster he’s at the top of his profession, and he’s at the top of his profession for a reason: He works hard and he works hard every day … In a personality-driven era, he came with the biggest personality on the block. Plus, he’s a great businessman, but that’s another story.”
