‘Batten down the hatches!’ Judge Jeanine warns Americans: Your safety is in your own hands

With a president who refuses to get his head out of the sand — and who overrides his own top military advisers — it’s past time for Americans to take more responsibility for their own safety in the face of threats from Islamic terrorists.

That was the message from Judge Jeanine Pirro’s “Opening Statement” on Saturday, as she hammered home again the idea so hard for many Americans to accept: the jihad threat is the greatest the country has seen seen since the founding days.

The Obama administration isn’t paying enough attention, Pirro said – “they dither and call them the jayvee team.” President Obama himself is no help, she added – “our president thinks he knows more than the military experts.”

“No one is taking this seriously enough,” she said. “If our government were listening, our borders would be closed … we would be bombing ISIS non-stop.”

And so the responsibility falls on individual Americans, Pirro said, to have plans to maintain contact with their families in the event of a terror strike on the scale of 9/11 — to have supplies on hand that might not be available in a national crisis, to know how to contact loved ones.

Batten down the hatches!” Pirro said. “It’s time for us to come together and take this threat seriously.”
