NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s bad week got even worse Friday, when a representative of radio shock jock Howard Stern’s show turned a press conference into a comedy bit.
The NFL called the press conference to clarify its stance on domestic violence in the wake of several high-profile cases involving players, including Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice, who was caught on surveillance video knocking out his then-fiancé in an elevator, according to the New York Daily News.
Goodell was taking questions from the media when Benjy Bronk, a writer for “The Howard Stern Show,” entered the press room and casually walked to the podium, where the commissioner was speaking, the Daily News reported.

About eight security guards and NFL officials immediately surrounded Bronk, who feigned resistance and screamed: “What are you doing? What are you doing? Don’t take me to an elevator!”
It was a clear reference to the Rice incident.
Bronk has made a name for himself with similar stunts. His antics, which include interrupting disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner’s resignation announcement, appear to be wearing thin, based on the reaction of reporters, who “rolled their eyes and groaned” during Friday’s comedic routine, the Daily News reported.
Stern has said that he doesn’t know ahead of time when Bronk will perform his high-profile stunts, and he would not approve of them — even though they become instant fodder for his show.
