A field organizer for the West Virginia Democratic Party and staff member for Rep. Nick Rahall, D-W.Va, recently posted pictures to his Facebook page that aren’t likely to help his boss’s reelection bid.
Rahall is running for reelection to the state’s 3rd District in what many consider to be one of the Republican Party’s best chances to increase their majority in the House. He has held the seat since 1977.
With the radical terrorists of the Islamic State filling so many headlines and just a few weeks to go before the November midterms, Rahall was probably less than thrilled when Holly Fisher discovered his staffer’s Facebook page, complete with pictures of the college-aged field organizer dressed like an Islamic terrorist and holding what appears to be an AK-47-style Airsoft rifle.
He was probably even less thrilled when she shared screenshots of the staffer, Colin Peterson, with her 50,000 followers on Twitter.
Peterson’s page is also said to have contained pro-terror, anti-Israel messaging, and comments about how excited he was to be taking a course on Islam at Randolph Macon College, according to one report.
Personally, Rahall may not object to Peterson’s leisure time activities, given his history of support for Syria and the Palestinians.
However, in an election year – particularly one in which Middle Eastern terrorism is such a potent issue – it’s a different story. Peterson’s Facebook page was deleted shortly after Fisher tweeted her screenshots of it.
It lives on, however, in Fisher’s Twitter timeline and pictures like these.
