A Florida restaurant has passed an extensive ban on an unusual item: ketchup.
But the Mad Fresh Bistro in Fort Myers is only reserving its restrictions for those over the age of 10, Fox News Insider reported.
“Chef reserves the right to refuse service of ketchup,” the restaurant’s menus warn.
Social media is afire with ridicule over the ban, but real-life ketchup Nazi, bistro owner and chef Xavier Duclos, isn’t joking around.
“I had someone try and sneak ketchup in here, and I kicked them out,” Duclos said. “I think my flavors work. You don’t walk into the museum and tell them to change the color of the painting.”
Before opening the restaurant, Duclos worked as a cook on yachts and country clubs, the story said.

“My burger has got a sauce on it already. There’s no point in adding a sweet sauce on top of that,” Duclos said. “I think ketchup is edible – on certain things. I’ll give it that much. But it’s just not part of my culinary agenda.”
Even without the popular condiment, Ducios says business is booming.
“We’re still slammed every day, still doing great, without any ketchup,” he said.
While the chef may be serious about his no-ketchup policy, some Twitter users are commending what they say amounts to a genius marketing strategy. Here are some examples:
