The art of fundraising is getting people in the mood to open their checkbooks, and with various parts of the world on fire at any given time, including right here in America, that task becomes all the more difficult for President Obama in his role as fundraiser in chief.
Appearing at a pair of fundraisers Friday, the president had to soften donors up with a healthy dose of optimism, or the best facsimile he can muster. He did this by saying “the world’s always been messy,” adding that we’re only noticing it because of social media.
Seriously.
