Leave it to the Congressional Black Caucus to bring on more bureaucrats to solve a problem.
A Democratic congressman wants the president to hold local police departments accountable by hiring a federal police czar to “prevent more Fergusons,” according to Politico.

U.S. Rep. Elijah Cummings of Maryland wrote Obama on Monday — the day of slain Missouri teen Michael Brown’s funeral — calling Brown “only the latest in a long list of black men and boys who have died under eerily similar circumstances.”
The deaths add up to a “pattern [that] is too obvious to be a coincidence and too frequent to be a mistake,” Cummings wrote.
A federal solution is the only answer, the congressman said.
“The administration must quickly establish a national commission to review existing police policies and practices,” he wrote, according to Political. “And identify the best policies and practices that can prevent more Fergusons and vastly improve policing in communities across the nation.”
Cummings called the militarization of police departments a “dangerous trend,” saying that in an era when police demonstrate “systemic racial bias,” every local police department should be trained under a watchdog czar. Of course, no Democratic idea would be complete without diversity training, which Cummings said should be the norm in police hiring and retention.
Democrats across the country are jumping on board with the idea. Among those signing Cummings’ letter are U.S. Reps. Marcia Fudge of Ohio, Steven Horsford of Nevada, John Lewis of Georgia, Gwen Moore of Wisconsin and Barbara Lee of Texas, Political reported.
Hollywood hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons and actress Cynthia Nixon have also added their signatures in support of a czar.
Although the left loves the idea, many on social media are speaking out against it, including these Twitter users:
Dear @RepCummings, please retire, you worthless pile of crap. RT @politico @OfficialCBC members push police czar idea http://t.co/AhyarbFws8
