BARBARIC: Islamic radicals teach their children to behead dolls

The power of social media to indoctrinate children into barbarity is growing, as advocates for radical Islam and a Muslim caliphate use various sites to spread their gospel of hate.

Repulsive photographs of youngsters emulating “Jihad John,” the British man who beheaded American photo-journalist James Foley last week, have sprung up on Twitter and YouTube and on Arab recruitment sites, the London Daily Mail reported.

One account, Time of the Caliphate, shows a photograph of a black-hooded boy holding an orange-garbed doll by the hair in one hand, and a serious knife in the other, standing in front of the black al-Qaeda flag. In the next picture, the doll lies decapitated on the floor, smeared with fake blood, knife laying on top, adjacent to the flag of death. And in a message posted in Arabic after the photo, it says “Teach your children to cut necks, tomorrow there will be a lot of rotten heads.”

This and other blatant attempts to radicalize children have been prohibited by YouTube and Twitter authorities, according to The Mail. A student from Cardiff, England, Reyaad Khan, who was considered politically moderate, recently posted a recruitment video for the Islamic State, to the shock of his friends.

“We have been and are actively suspending accounts as we discover them related to this graphic imagery,” wrote Twitter CEO Dick Costolo on Wednesday.

The crackdown is made all the more difficult because so many apps and lesser-known channels of communication are available for susceptible kids addicted to their smart phones.

The hydra-headed purveyors of death and destruction appeal particularly to the depressed and unemployed, and see no falloff in their number of hits or wannabe terrorists travelling to Syria.

The Time for the Caliphate site, for instance, continues to spew its messages of hate and receive responses in Arabic from global sympathizers, thanking them for “defeating these traitors and tyrants” and embedding “terror into the hearts of the infidels.”

While Britain, France and Germany work diligently to suppress social media sites as propaganda tools endangering national security in Europe, America’s First Amendment makes that challenge significantly more difficult for law enforcement officials here.
