A Connecticut Democrat found herself in a conundrum after voters learned her husband had proudly proclaimed he is “pro-white.”
Ann Zubkova, an attorney in the Democratic primary for a probate judge’s seat, is having to explain an Aryan blog written by her husband, Rob Freeman, who for years was also a member of a neo-Nazi group, according to the Norwich Bulletin.
“I am pro-white, because so much out there is anti-white,” Freeman wrote in the blog, “Mindweapons of Ragnarok.” “I am defending that part of my identity that is being attacked.”

Freeman may have been embraced as a martyr for celebrating diversity if he was a minority sharing pro-black or pro-brown views, but his pro-white affirmations are not likely to deliver many Democratic votes.
Zubkova’s response to the controversy proves she is a natural politician — she obfuscated, saying her husband’s views should not impact her campaign.
“He did not have those views when we married, but acquired them after,” she told the Bulletin. “What am I supposed to do? Divorce him? It’s not unusual for husbands and wives to have different views.”
The newspaper credited the watchdog group, One People’s Project, for exposing Freeman.
“He was one of 300 neo-Nazis attending a rally in Pennsylvania and, before that, was at some anti-hate forums in Massachusetts,” One People’s Project founder Daryle Jenkins said.
Freeman may be pro-white, but he’s an equal opportunity white supremacist.
“I am not attacking other races, I am defending my own, and I welcome all sincere allies — Black, Hispanic, Jewish, Asian, Muslim, Arab, Persian,” he wrote in his blog. “If I missed anyone, chime in.”
