Bill and Hillary Clinton have decided to cut costs for their three-week vacation by paying half as much to rent a summer getaway cottageĀ as they did last year.
The Clintons have passed up the posh designer Hamptons to stay in Amagansett on the north side of Long Island, according to the Huffington Post. But not to worry, the area boasts multimillion-dollar homes of neighbors Alec Baldwin and Steven Spielberg nearby.
Upscale locals often flee the island in August, but āthis summer the Clintons are āslumming itā with the 99 percent of Hamptonites,ā the Huffington Post reports. āNo $100 million ā one-percenter ā ocean-front cottages for now. We have a presidential campaign coming up.ā

While last yearās vacation villa set them back $200,000 for an $11 million sprawling estate on 3.5 acres, this year they will pay only $100,000 for the waterfront -property known as the Bell Estate, according to the Daily Mail.
The home belongs to Andre and Lois Nasser and boasts sevenĀ bedrooms andĀ 7.5 baths, but sits on the bay instead of the ocean. Movie mogul and friend of the Clintons, Harvey Weinstein, lives next door.
A fundraiser benefiting the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation will be held on Saturday, according to the Huffington Post, with tickets priced from $5,000 to $50,000, at the home of Joan and George Hornig.
Not too shabby for a couple who left the White House ādead broke.ā
