GOP rep. explains Democrats’ ugliest strategy: ‘War on whites’

In a scathing attack on the progressive elements leading the Democratic Party today, Alabama Republican Mo Brooks accused Democrats of waging a “war on whites” to united minority voters in the politics of envy.

In an interview with conservative radio host Laura Ingraham, Brooks said Democrat rhetoric is deliberately inflammatory against the country’s white majority – even though the Democrat leadership is overwhelmingly white itself.

In particular, Brooks was referring to the constant refrain that Republicans are hostile to Hispanics – a charge made by National Journal Editorial Director Ron Fournier on Fox News Sunday.

“This party, your party, cannot be the party of the future beyond November, if you’re seen as the party of white people,” Fournier told Heritage Action CEO Michael Needham.

Hogwash, Brooks told Ingraham.

“This is a part of the war on whites that’s being launched by the Democratic Party,” Brooks said. “And the way in which they’re launching this war is by claiming that whites hate everybody else. It’s a part of the strategy that Barack Obama implemented in 2008, continued in 2012, where he divides us all on race, on sex, greed, envy, class warfare, all those kinds of things. Well that’s not true. Okay?”

Brooks called out Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill., by name as being among the Democrat demagogues inciting ethnic hatred for political gain. On Friday, Gutierrez criticized Republicans on the House floor, accusing them of using the children of illegal aliens – Hispanic children – as scapegoats for white frustrations.

Brooks said the opposite is true. Americans across the board are opposed to the influx of illegal immigrants invading the country’s south thanks to President Obama’s election-driven decision to defer deportation proceedings against some illegal aliens back in 2012. That decision led directly to the current crisis, Brooks said.

“Every demographic group in America agrees with the rule of law, enforcing and securing our borders,” Brooks said. “And every one of them understands that illegal immigration hurts every single demographic group. It doesn’t make a difference if you’re a white American, a black American, Hispanic American, an Asian American or if you’re a woman or a man. Every single demographic group is hurt by falling wages and lost jobs.

“And so the Democrats, they have to demagogue on this and try and turn it into a racial issue, which is an emotional issue, rather than a thoughtful issue. If it becomes a thoughtful issue, then we win and we win big. And they lose and they lose big. And they understand that and as they get more desperate, they are going to argue race and things like that to a much heightened emotional state.”

And they’re going to do it all the way to November — no matter how much of a lie it is — if it offers Barack Oblama’s Democrats their only chance of onto the Senate and keeping their race-baiting majority leader, Harry Reid, in power. Because in the end, power is all they really care about.

Brooks is only wrong on one point. It’s not a “war on whites” liberals are waging. It’s a war on America.

It’d be easier to forgive if they didn’t know what they were doing.

But they do.
