World renowned ebola researcher Whoopi Goldberg brought a peer-reviewed arsenal of attitude to the “The View” on Monday, railing against billionaire Donald Trump over his views on the treatment of two missionaries brought back to the United States after contracting the deadly ebola virus in Liberia.
With an overwhelmingly sympathetic home crowd, Golberg let fly at Trump for a Twitter post that denounced bringing the ebola patients – a doctor and a medical hygienist with the charity group Samaritan’s Purse – back to the States for treatment.
The U.S. cannot allow EBOLA infected people back. People that go to far away places to help out are great-but must suffer the consequences!

(That exclamation point has to set a new standard for billionaire bluntness.)
Goldberg, who apparently specializes in infectious diseases when she’s not hosting daytime talk shows, explained to her studio audience and millions of living rooms throughout the land how difficult it is to contract ebola. You can’t, for instance, get it from an infected person’s sneezing, farts (applause), or other casual contact. Ebola, she assured us, can only be spread through bodily fluids.
Of course, that doesn’t come close to explaining why no ebola patient has ever been brought to the United States before, or why the first patient, Dr. Kent Brantly of Forth Worth, Texas, had to be flown in a special jet equipped with an isolation bubble, covered in protective plastic and attended by a doctor, a nurse and an epidemiologist on the flight. Hygienist Nancy Writebol of Charlotte, N.C., is due to arrive today after traveling under similar precautions.
It also doesn’t explain why both are to be treated at at Emory University in Atlanta in a a special isolation unit built with the assistance of the federal Centers for Disease Control.
Bodily fluids must spread easier than we thought.
Regardless, it’s not The Donald’s first go-round with an opinionated “View” personality. In July, his long-running feud with Rosie O’Donnell returned to the headlines with news that O’Donnell is returning to the show (“crude, rude, obnoxious and dumb,” he called her, besides predicting she’d self-destruct.)
His views on ebola were certainly not welcome to “The View’s” current doyenne.
“I don’t really know how to respond to it in a polite way,” Goldberg said. “I like Donald, I try to be respectful, but that was an idiotic comment.”
Judge for yourself how respectful she was here. And never worry about ebola again.
