In a letter sent to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder on Wednesday, House Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp, R-Mich., included newly-discovered emails sent by Lois Lerner, which irrefutably demonstrate her animosity towards Republicans and tea party members.
The woman at the center of the tea party targeting scandal and former head of the Internal Revenue Service’s Exempt Organization Unit referred to conservatives as “a**holes”in one email, and wrote in a Nov. 9, 2012 email, that they will ruin the United States: “So we don’t need to worry about alien teRrorists (sic). It’s our own crazies that will take us down,” the Washington Times reported.
Camp told Holder that the email “shows that Ms. Lerner’s mistreatment of conservative groups was driven by her personal hostility towards conservatives.”

Lerner has been under a Contempt of Congress Citation since May 7, 2014 but investigations of the IRS have proceeded at a snail’s pace. Rep. Camp wrote in his letter to the Department of Justice, “Despite the serious investigation and evidence this Committee has undertaken into the IRS’s targeting of individuals for their beliefs, there is no indication that DOJ is taking this matter seriously.”
“In light of this new information,” he continued, “I hope DOJ will aggressively pursue this case and finally appoint a special counsel, so the full truth can be revealed and justice is served.”
The new batch of material sent to DOJ also contained evidence alleging Ms. Lerner used her home computer for official business. In a Feb. 22, 2012 exchange with an IRS IT person, she mentioned a virus on her home PC and that information may have been compromised because of her easy password.
The IRS has admitted it gave undue scrutiny to conservative groups in their applications for tax-exempt status, but the woman who can blow the top off the lid, as Alexander Butterfield did for Watergate, has adamantly refused to testify.
