Authorities in Manteca, California have located three Tillamook cheese vans that were stolen this past weekend. The vans are restored Volkswagen minibuses and are painted bright orange. Each one is valued at $100,000. At the time of the theft – the vans were on a tour promoting Tillamook dairy products.
Police tracked down the cheese vans to a rented storage locker in Copperopolis – almost fifty miles away from the crime scene. Although a truck and trailer that were part of the promotion entourage were torched, the bright orange Tillamook minibuses were found unharmed.
Authorities have several outstanding suspects, but are not releasing any information about their identities – or a motive for the crime. That has not stopped people raising questions wondering if Mickey, Minnie, and Chuck E., are somehow involved – or if this was a revenge theft plotted by a lactose intolerant psychopath.
