Obama interview nominated for Emmy award

“Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis,” featuring Barack Obama was nominated for an Emmy award for Outstanding Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program.

The Funny or Die piece that aired in March was propaganda for the Healthcare.gov website that was having trouble forcing insurance on young people who didn’t really want it.

Executive producers of the segment Scott Aukerman, Zach Galifianakis, BJ Porter and Mike Farah were nominated for the award, according to The Washington Post.

White House officials defended the widely criticized interview saying the clip increased traffic to the failing website by almost 40 percent.

According to Fox News:

Other Emmy nominees this year have additional ties to the Obama administration: “The Soup’s” host Joel McHale was the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner emcee, and Vice President Biden and first lady Michelle Obama have guest-starred on the NBC series “Parks and Recreation.”
