In an exclusive interview with unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers on Monday, Fox New host Megyn Kelly compared the former Weather Underground member to Osama bin Laden.
Through an interview that spanned his violent past and questioned him on his early connections to Barack Obama, Ayers justified the Weather Underground’s actions by saying that while his group took credit for nearly 20 bombings, there were more than 20,000 in the United States in opposition to the Vietnam War.
“The idea that somehow this is the moral equivalent of 6,000 people a week being killed strikes me as nuts,” he said. “We were destroying property, and in the course of discussion, some people thought we should go much further, but we didn’t.”
Ayers again pointed to war-time violence “perpetrated by the government.”
“You sound like – with respect – Osama bin Laden,” Kelly said.
After Kelly listed several key bombings as evidence of his bloody past, Ayers continued to deny he was involved in any violence.
“That’s actually destruction of property, but you can call it violence, but to equate it to the murder of human beings is nonsense,” he said.
