Emmy Award-winning reporter Sharyl Attkisson said the liberal media isn’t holding President Obama’s feet to the fire out of fear of looking like “right-wing nuts.”
She should know. Attkisson spent two decades with CBS News, more than qualifying her as an authoritative expert on the topic.
Asked by Fox Business Network host Lou Dobbs why the liberal media ignores a long list of scandals involving the Obama administration and behaves “much more like lap dogs,” she said: “I think to some degree they have been played by propaganda interests who suggest that if these stories are covered, they are simply phony scandals and Republican generated. Which they’re not, in my opinion.”
Chick-fil-A shows haters how to have respect
There “are many important questions to be asked,” Attkisson said, but some in the media are too concerned about how they’ll be perceived.
“But the propaganda campaign says that if you’re interested in the story, you’re a conservative and a right-wing nut,” she told Dobbs. “And media should not be swayed by that, but I think to some degree, they are.”
Those who do stand up to the propaganda are dealt with differently, she said.
Attkisson, who has been a thorn in the Obama administration’s side both for her coverage of the “Fast and Furious” gun-running scandal and the Benghazi attack, said last year that her personal and work computers had been compromised.
“To some degree, it’s obviously disturbing. It makes me angry,” she said. “It doesn’t chill me. It doesn’t dissuade me from doing the job that I need to do.”
Now, that’s one tough lady.
