While President Obama seems to have a lock on bad leadership, the Democratic governor of Colorado, John Hickenlooper, is giving him a run for his money after being caught on video admitting he didn’t look at the facts before signing a gun control measure into law.
And when push came to shove, he blamed his staff.
“One of my staff made the commitment that we would sign if it got passed,” he told a group of state sheriffs at a meeting last week. “To be honest, no one in our office thought it would get through the legislature.”

“After all the kerfuffle, I went back to try to get some facts we should have had at the beginning,” Hickenlooper said. “They told me there are roughly 300,000 magazine that carry more than 15 rounds in the state of Colorado already. How’s a police enforcement officer going to tell which is the old one and which is the new one?”
He then acknowledged the law will have little impact.
“Some punk kid in Aurora wants to go out there and start spray shooting his neighborhood, which is still happening, in Aurora, in Denver, in Colorado Springs,” Hickenlooper said in the meeting. “It’s not like you’re gonna have a hard time finding a magazine.”
When pressed further about not consulting with the sheriffs, the governor offered a sarcastic apology, as seen in the second video.
“How many apologies do you want?” he asked. “What the f—? I apologize!”
