President Obama’s just feeling rejected on the playground of politics.
That’s the brilliant analysis rapper Ice Cube gave to Time magazine’s at-large editor Belinda Luscombe of the biggest problem facing the country.
It’s not that the president is arrogant, or a narcissist, or running an administration that’s utterly incompetent when it comes to dealing with the country’s enemies but bizarrely efficient at using the power of the state to harass its own citizens.
Nope. It’s those meanie white kids (meaning Republicans) who just don’t want to make him feel welcome.
“Obama reminds me of the black kid at a white school that don’t nobody want to play with,” Cube told Luscombe.
And Obama being the president of the United States, a job that used to be known as the most powerful in the world, doesn’t change anything.
“I think it’s great with all the obstacles, you know,” Cube said. “You couldn’t ask for more.”
No, America’s never asked for more of its presidents than sulking on the sidelines.
“I think he’s done the best job a man in his position could do under the circumstances,” Cube said.
It doesn’t get much more damning than that.
