Former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney insists he isn’t running in 2016, but that didn’t stop him from criticizing the current Democratic frontrunner, Hillary Clinton.
NBC’s “Meet the Press” host David Gregory asked Romney what the Republican’s playbook would look like in a run against Clinton, even though she hasn’t officially announced her candidacy.
“The playbook, I believe, is to look at her record,” Romney said. “Consider what’s happened around the world during the years when she was secretary of state.”
Clinton’s tenure was a “monumental bust,” Romney said, calling the former first lady “clueless” about the threat posed by five
commandos released from the Guantanamo Bay facility, based on statements she’s made during her book tour interviews.
“I think her clueless comments about the [U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe] Bergdahl exchange, as well as her record as the secretary of state, are really going to be the foundation of how a Republican candidate is able to take back the White House,” he said.
