U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl returned to the United States early Friday morning and was transported to Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas for continued treatment.
Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby, the Pentagon’s press secretary, confirmed that Bergdahl landed in San Antonio at 1:40 a.m. and will not make any public appearances during his transition, according to local TV station, KENS 5.
Bergdahl had been undergoing medical evaluation and treatment at Ramstein Air Base in Germany since his release from Taliban captivity last month.

How long Bergdahl will be in San Antonio has not been determined, Kirby said, according to KENS 5.
“There is no timeline for this process,” he said. “Our focus remains on [Bergdahl’s] health and well-being. Secretary Hagel is confident that the Army will continue to ensure that Sgt. Bergdahl receives the care, time and space he needs to complete his recovery and reintegration’”
