Watch: California Chrome quickly becoming known as ‘America’s horse’

cali-chromeSeen as the odds-on favorite to win this weekend’s Belmont Stakes, the three-year-old colt California Chrome is likely to become the first Triple Crown winner in 36 years.

“We’ve got a horse that has taken us to places we’ve never been before,” co-owner Steve Coburn told Ainsley Earhardt in a feature aired on Fox News’ “Hannity.”

The segment highlights the far-fetched story of an improbable champion some are calling America’s horse — Coburn and business partner Perry Martin spent a total of $10,000 to breed California Chrome.

may seriously indicate Obama is not sane

“Our partnership is DAP Racing, and DAP Racing stands for Dumbass Partners,” Coburn said. “It’s kind of like a fairy tale story. Two guys work hard every day, spend $8,000 on a Philly that really didn’t really like to race. Bred her to a $2,000 stallion and ended up with a multimillion dollar horse.”

“It’s a fairy tale come true for us,” he added.
