U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., was only too happy to point out just how “disconnected from reality” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is for saying he’s “glad” the five most senior members of the Taliban held at Guantanamo were released.
“Guantanamo has been there far too long, and I think that we should get them out of there as quickly as we can,” Reid said of the enemy combatants still held there.
“We’ve been held up from doing that by the Republicans, not wanting any of them to be tried here in the United States even though our record here is really quite good,” he added. “So I’m glad to get rid of these five people, send them back to Qatar.”

Graham wished a different fate upon the five terrorists, whom he dubbed the “Taliban Dream Team.”
“I wish they would’ve died in jail,” he told Fox News host Greta Van Susteren.
“There is not one shred of evidence that letting them go was based on the fact they’re no longer dangerous,” Graham said Tuesday. “These people were let go for political reasons…The likelihood of an American citizen being kidnapped in the future by a terrorist organization in light of this decision goes through the roof.”
“There’s no evidence Senator Reid, that these people have renounced terrorism,” he continued. “Quite the opposite. They’re now heroes.”
