Political genius Michelle Obama tells donors how Dems, Pelosi can retake House; cue laughter

Showing she knows a lot more about extended vacations than she does about the government that pays for them, first lady Michelle Obama is telling Democrat donors the party has a chance of winning back the House this November.

They just need to kick in a “big, fat check” to make Nancy Pelosi the speaker of the House again.

During a fundraiser in Boston on Monday (top ticket, $32,400 per couple), Obama noted that Democrats need to win 17 seats in the House to take back control of the chamber. “That’s a doable number,” she said, according to the Washington Examiner.

Mathematically, maybe, but politically it’s almost impossible, even if Dems take Michelle Obama’s advice and push hard to get women and minorities to vote this year.

“We need to call them and remind them that the midterms are coming and we need to give them a ride to the polls to make sure they get there,” she said.

Put aside the basic question of whether people who need to be reminded midterm elections are coming should be voting in the first place. (They shouldn’t — they’re invariably Democrats.) The idea that there are enough ignorant, class-envious Obama believers left to give the Democrats a majority in the House for the last two years of Barack Obama’s presidency is ludicrous.

According to the Examiner:

Analysts at the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics currently forecast a net Republican gain of five to eight seats. In fact, hardly any impartial observer of the political scene gives Democrats a realistic chance of flipping the House into their control.

You’d think Michelle Obama would know that and concentrate her time on trying to keep Senate in Democrat hands.

That she says otherwise makes her either a flat-liar-for-money or someone who’s become so deluded, so out of touch with reality that she actually believes her husband’s command can make the impossible come true. (Or she’s lunching with Debbie Wasserman Schultz.)

Either way, it’s going to be a long two years before we see the back of this woman – whether it’s on her way back to Chicago or Hawaii.
