President Obama’s Labor Secretary Tom Perez is drawing derision in the Twitter world for a posting Monday that flat-out trashed the individualism America is built on.
As the commencement speaker for Oberlin College, Perez escaped the speaker wars of 2014, where liberal students with the totalitarian mindset of progressives everywhere managed to get prevent conservatives from speaking, and when you see his advice to graduates, you can see why.
He’s even more totalitarian than the worst of the little proto fascists liberals fantasize about graduating into the Age of Obama today.

First let’s get it out of the way that a middle-aged man who uses words like “ussie” in any context is not to be trusted (like a younger “man” who sips cocoa in onesie pajamas and annoys people talking about Obamacare.)
Then look at what he actually said. In some samples gathered by Twitchy.com, Twitter users sure did.

That’s exactly what it means. Individualism is a problem to the political left, and it always has been. It’s how they come up with slogans like “everything within the state, nothing outside the state,” and even “one people, one state, one leader.”
When millions of people did in man-made famines in the Ukraine it’s called “collective.” When people like a Democrat labor secretary are talking to earnest young progressives at small liberal arts schools, it’s called “community.” Either way, the result is the same.

And then there’s the small matter of the president who appointed Perez, and his juvenile habit of turning every world problem into one of those “selfie” moments Perez seems to deplore. Hypocrisy, thy name is Democrat.

Getting back to the word “ussie” for a second, is it possible Perez meant to tweet something else? It looks, for instance, like the old abbreviation for the that progressive experiment called the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics back in the day.
Sounds like the labor secretary of an administration in charge of central planning the health care of 300 million Americans would fit right in with the enemy the United States spent most of the 20th Century at war with — the existential threat Ronald Reagan pushed into defeat.
Maybe he really meant “move from selfie culture to USSR culture.”
Or it was another kind of typo? As Oberlin alumna and conservative columnist Michelle Malkin put it with her usual scalpel wit:
