‘Dirty Jobs’ Mike Rowe shares the one question a soldier asked him that left him speechless

Former “Dirty Jobs” host Mike Rowe shared a story on his Facebook page Sunday about a recent encounter with a soldier that left him speechless.

While attending a festival in Washington, D.C., Rowe said, he was running late and trying to get from one side of the convention center to the other when an event organizer grabbed him and asked him to meet someone backstage.

Waiting to shake his hand was Staff Sgt. Travis Mills of the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, “one of only five quadruple amputees to survive that level of injury in the recent wars,” Rowe said in the Facebook post.

Mills told Rowe that he and his buddies enjoyed “Dirty Jobs” while on active duty, and asked him what it was like to work in so many “difficult and dangerous situations.”

“Can you imagine?” Rowe wrote. “How exactly does one answer a question like that from a guy like this?”
