President Obama visited the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y., on Thursday, and while he managed to bring along quite an entourage, he left the “mom jeans” at home.
Obama’s jeans became famous when he wore them while throwing out the first pitch at the 2009 All-Star Game. He will be donating the Chicago White Sox jacket he wore that day to the memorabilia collection at the Hall, but the jeans have been retired, according to Politico.
“I hear that with all the media attention about it, there was also some interest in the jeans I wore that night,” the president said during remarks at the venue. “But Michelle retired those jeans quite a while back.”
As part of the “travel and tourism agenda,” Obama brought along his staffers, who enjoyed checking out the memorabilia, according to Twitchy:
