A woman who allegedly suffered a history of physical abuse from her husband paid the ultimate price when she cooked for him the wrong dinner.
Pakistani immigrant Noor Hussein was so distraught at having to eat a vegetarian lentil dish instead of a hearty goat meat supper, that he took a stick and beat his wife Nazzar to death, the New York Post reported.
In their opening statements in Brooklyn Supreme Court on Wednesday, prosecutors alleged that when the 75-year-old man learned she had not prepared his savored meal, they got into a vicious argument and “[his wife] disrespected the defendant by cursing at defendant and saying motherf-ker and that the defendant took a wooden stick and hit her with it on her arm and mouth.”

Hussein’s defense attorney, Julie Clark, claimed that in his home country, disciplining the wife was customary and that her client should only be charged with manslaughter.
He didn’t intend to kill her, she contended. “He comes from a culture where he thinks this is appropriate conduct, where he can hit his wife,” she said.
Prosecutor Sabeeha Madni responded that “His intentions were to kill his wife…he brutally attacked his wife as she lay in her bed,” where she died from a brain hemorrhage.
The Assistant District Attorney revealed that Hussein tried to clean up the splattered blood in the bedroom before calling his son, saying “I killed her. Hurry up and come over.”
Other Pakistani women who lived in the same building would testify that Hussein had been beating his wife for years, according to the D.A..
