MSNBC’s Ed Schultz has probably learned a valuable lesson about Twitter after apparently tweeting a message about the holocaust on Monday.
A tweet doesn’t go away once it’s deleted.
An image of a webpage that declared thousands of gays were persecuted in Nazi Germany was tweeted from his @edshow Twitter account, but deleted twenty minutes later.
Twitter user Calle_Elefante took a screen shot of the message and shared it with the world:
@Matthops82 Checkout this tweet Ed sent out and then deleted quickly. pic.twitter.com/1kPo6UejRJ

Many were stunned by the proclamation, tweeting these responses:
@lachlan @Calle_Elefante @Matthops82 I guess it really wasn’t Jews then…. Oh Geeze. — Kathleen McKinley (@KatMcKinley) May 12, 2014
@lachlan @Calle_Elefante @Matthops82 I don’t even know how to react to that level of insanity. — Pradheep Shanker MD (@Neoavatara) May 12, 2014
@Calle_Elefante @Matthops82 Ed? Planet Pluto is calling you home. Cuz you sure ain’t of this world, buddy. — Carolina Girl (@Carolina_Girl3) May 12, 2014
@unclemeat80 @edshow @Calle_Elefante @Matthops82 Truly vile and bizarre statement. If he were conservative that’d be the end of him. — Daniel Edward (@daniel_edwardz) May 13, 2014
Then there was this tweet, making a reference to comments made by Eleanor Clift about Ambassador Chris Stevens who was killed during the Benghazi consulate attack:
@Calle_Elefante @Matthops82 I guess the Jews weren’t actually “murdered”. Right @EleanorClift? It was exposure to gas, bullets, starvation.
