Chris Christie reacts to comic’s brutally embarrassing fat jokes; reportedly, it involves a headlock

Never let it be said Chris Christie doesn’t have a sense of humor.

Hours after a series of fat jokes aimed at him from the stage of the White House Correspondents Dinner Saturday night, the New Jersey governor was hanging out into the early hours Sunday with the man slinging the zingers.

“I got a lot of these tonight, so buckle up, Governor Christie,” comic headliner Joel McHale joked early in the spiel. “Excuse me: Extender-buckle up.”

Ba-dum-tish.

“Do you want bridge jokes or size jokes? ’Cause I’ve got a bunch of both,” McHale riffed. “I could go half and half. I know you like a combo platter.”

According to the New York Post, Christie and McHale had a good old time at the after-parties.

“Listen, I thought he was great, and that’s exactly what I expected,” Christie told a Vanity Fair correspondent at the magazine’s after-party. “I thought he was really funny, and not just about me, but about everybody.”

“It was all very friendly,” a source told the Post’s gospel-truth Page Six. “They were both doing [Robert] De Niro impressions. … They did a little play-fighting, and Christie put Joel in a headlock.”

After those jokes from the platform, McHale’s lucky he got out of it.
