Video: College students stunned to learn Hillary Clinton’s views

What a difference a decade makes.

College students on campus today might think gay marriage is important, but would be unable to recognize the position one of the leading contenders for the Democrat nomination for president in 2016 held the last time she was close to the White House.

Media Research Center’s Dan Joseph took a quick tour of George Mason University campus recently to read students a quote from an unidentified politician who espoused what is now considered to be the “conservative,” or “Republican” view of marriage. (It might also be called the “sane” view of marriage, but that’s another story.)

“Marriage has got historic, religious and moral content that goes back to the beginning of time,” this noted personage said, “and I think a marriage is as a marriage has always been, between a man and a woman.”

The person speaking is Hillary Clinton and the quote is from 2000 — back in those dark ages when almost no one dreamed that anybody ever consider marriage to be anything but what it had always been “back to the beginning of time.” The reactions from the students about this liberal icon’s shifting views are worth seeing.

It’s interesting – almost funny — to note that even then, Clinton said “a marriage is as a marriage has always been, between a man and a woman.”

She’s too much of a Democrat to say anything “always will be.”

Heck, Clintons have trouble with “is.”
