Former GOP presidential candidate Fred Thompson is a regular on Twitter with witty comments, so it’s no surprise he couldn’t resist the urge to pan the idea of a presidential library in Chicago.
The Illinois House’s Executive Committee voted earlier this month to spend $100 million to lure the President Obama Library and Museum, but backtracked last week after facing public ridicule.
Thomson, also a former U.S. Senator, tweeted Monday:
Already-broke IL to spend $100M to build Obama’s presidential library. I honestly can’t think of anything more symbolically perfect. #tcot
