NRA protesters with no intellectual ammunition: ‘Second Amendment, that’s baloney!’

NRA protestMedia Research Center TV’s Dan Joseph showed up last week at a monthly protest held outside NRA headquarters in Fairfax, Va.

According to CNS News, members of the Reston-Herndon Alliance To End Gun Violence turn out on the 14th of each month to protest the NRA — a date that depicts the tragic shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Ct.

As is his practice, Joseph allows respondents to speak their mind, and a lady told him that they were there to inform the NRA that “30,000 people die of gun violence in this country every year, and it’s their fault.”

his wife: ‘Damn the career consequences!’

When Joseph asked another woman if people should be able to use a firearm to defend themselves if their life is in danger, she responded, “No, only a law enforcement officer should be allowed to use weapons.”

“So, you’re in the wrong place, you’re screwed?” he asked in a follow up.

Incredibly, she responded, “Yes.”

But the quote of the day, as designated by CNS News’ Matt Vespa, came from “a rather angry protester,” who said:

“Anybody that wants to wrap themselves in the [American] flag and say, ‘Oh, Second Amendment,’ that’s baloney!”

What is not baloney, as Vespa reported, is the FBI says that even though gun ownership has been surging, firearm-related homicides are down 39 percent from 1993-2011.
