A New York Times op-ed titled “Veterans and White Supremacy,” purporting to link veterans to hate groups spurred “complete and total outrage” among veterans, according to Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America CEO Paul Reickhofftold.

Reickhofftold, an Iraq War vet himself, appeared on “The Kelly Files” to describe what he’d heard since the piece came out Tuesday.

“They’re outraged, they’re offended and they want an apology,” he told Fox News host Megyn Kelly.

He called the linking of veterans to white supremacist groups “not only offensive, but it’s not factually based,” and referred to the writer’s argument as “garbage.”

“Veterans, unfortunately, are one of the few minority groups it’s still OK to stereotype, apparently,” he said. “And we’ve got to be defensive about that — especially after Vietnam.”
