Parents’ worst nightmare! Burglar caught on tape lurking over crib as infant sleeps

sleeping-babyA home surveillance system in Texas captured what must be every parent’s worst nightmare — an intruder in their child’s bedroom.

A burglar entered a home in the Houston area through an unlocked window in the early morning of April 5 and can be seen on video going from room to room while a family slept, according to KHOU.

For five minutes the brazen intruder casually walks around the house, but things really got creepy when he enters a bedroom where a 2-year-old child is sleeping. The man seems to hover over the crib momentarily, even pointing a flashlight at the baby.

“I was infuriated when I saw him walking back and forth in my baby’s room. My stomach was turning,” father Thinh Le told KHOU. “He’s my world. I love him.”

To make matters worse, Le had no idea what had occurred until a neighbor alerted him.

The burglar had moved on to a neighbor’s home, waking that family as he tried to enter. While fleeing from that home, he dropped a laptop belonging to Le.

The neighbor, Crystal Cox, saw Le’s contact information and alerted him.

“He had no problem being in someone’s house, knowing that they were home sleeping,” Cox said after seeing the video. “That takes a lot of nerve.”

KHOU reported that the burglar is believed to be between 16 and 18 years old and is suspected in other burglaries in the neighborhood. Police added that the Hispanic male was wearing a New Era baseball cap with a San Antonio Spurs logo on the brim, and has a tattoo behind his right ear.
