Holder cries victim over Gohmert’s embarrassing question: No president or AG has ever been treated this way

Differences between the Obama administration and members of Congress led U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to play the victim Wednesday, claiming that no attorney general or president in history had ever been treated so unfairly.

Was he implying he and President Obama were victims of racism? It sure sounded that way, since he singled out the two top positions in the administration that happen to be held by black men.

Speaking to Al Sharpton’s National Action Network Annual convention in New York, Holder mentioned the explosive exchange he had the day before with U.S. Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, according to Breitbart News.

“You don’t want to go there, buddy! You don’t want to go there, OK?” Holder snapped when the congressman suggested contempt charges meant little to the stonewalling attorney general.

After telling Wednesday’s crowd that he takes pride in how he’s led the Attorney General’s Office, Holder pointed to Gohmert’s comments as a sign of disrespect.

“I am pleased to note that the last five years have been defined by significant strides and lasting reforms, even in the face of unprecedented, unwarranted ugly and divisive adversity,” he said. “And if you don’t believe that, you look at the way — forget about me — you look at the way the attorney general of the United States was treated yesterday by a House committee. Had nothing to do with me. What attorney general has ever had to deal with that kind of treatment? What president has ever had to deal with that kind of treatment?”

The official Department of Justice transcript of the speech omits all the words that are in bold above, which are the most inflammatory parts of his speech.

Yet he said them. Watch his remarks here.

Holder continues to ignore subpoenas, he interprets the law at his whim, and he disregards the rights of states and individuals.

He should man up, stop whining and do his job.

As for the president, disagreement does not equate to racism. George W. Bush was ridiculed and compared to Hitler, but he never complained. Bill Clinton was impeached. But after clinging to his job, he rolled up his sleeves and found common ground with Congress.

Holder and Obama should grow a little skin and do the same. If they can’t, they’re in the wrong business.
