A reporter working for Campus Reform was initially welcomed at a feminist leadership conference, an event proclaiming “inclusivity” and welcomed “traditional and nontraditional students.” She was bullied and shunned, however, when the organizers realized she worked for a conservative publication.
Liberals claim to strive for diversity and inclusivity — “big tent” is a phrase often used, and the National Young Feminist Leadership Conference was no different when Campus Reform’s Katherine Timpf showed up to cover the March 29-31 event.
Yet when the organizers realized what media outlet Timpf worked for, participants were discouraged from speaking with her.
“They’re a group that’s conservative, so what we are fighting for is not something…” one organizer told a student Timpf was interviewing. The student obediently walked away.
“You’re just assuming that based on where I work,” Timpf told the organizer.
“Yeah, we are,” the organizer stated.
“You guys aren’t wanted here,” one participant told Timpf.
“I thought this was supposed to be an inclusive thing, why am I being excluded because of where I work?” Timpf asked another organizer.

When she was told that it was because Campus Reform isn’t inclusive, she shot back, “You don’t know that. You don’t know anything about me or my personal beliefs, I’m just being labeled and excluded based on a label.”
The group’s “safe space policy” proclaimed to be “structured around inclusivity … with a focus on representing various perspectives,” its website proclaimed.
“We will not tolerate, allow, or encourage behavior which makes folks feel uncomfortable, threatened, or demoralized,” the policy said.
