When Planned Parenthood rallies Tuesday in front of the Supreme Court while it hears arguments over what some call Obamacare’s violations of religious freedoms, the group will have some company from pro-life advocates.
Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood are seeking relief from a Health and Human Services mandate that the companies pay for birth control, including abortion aids, according to Life News.
“I’ve just learned that Planned Parenthood is planning their own big rally at the Supreme Court in support of the HHS Mandate on March 25,” Pro-Life Action League’s Eri Scheidler told Life News. “Word is that Planned Parenthood has a huge rally of their own planned, with a massive banner, signs, the whole nine.”
Scheidler, whose group is joining other pro-life advocates in a rally to support Hobby Lobby, told Life News that such cases are vitally important to support.
“On March 25, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments in Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood Specialties v. Sebelius — the first two cases on the HHS mandate to reach the high court,” he said. “The HHS mandate is one of the most controversial parts of Obamacare. It forces employers to provide free abortion inducing drugs in their health plans — without any regard to religious or moral objections. The Green family, owners of Hobby Lobby, and the Hahn family, owners of Conestoga, are standing for all of us who cherish religious freedom by challenging the HHS mandate in court.”
Pro-life advocates will host a prayer vigil and rally at the Supreme Court from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
“Spread the word about these important cases and the religious freedom issues involved through every channel: email, Facebook, Twitter and your personal blog or other website,” Scheidler said, according to Life News. “Keep the Green and Hahn families, all their attorneys and the Supreme Court justices hearing their cases in your prayers over the coming days before the oral arguments.”
“A good ruling in these two cases would mean the end of the HHS mandate and a huge victory for religious freedom.”
