A military veteran who lost both his legs in Afghanistan was not allowed to join his 14-year-old daughter on the “Boomerang” ride at Six Flags Fiesta Texas because of his prosthetic legs.
Stephen Jackel said he was told by a park employee that he had to have one functional leg and one functional arm to go on the ride, according to the CBS affiliate KMOV.
“And that was devastating to me,” he said.
That his daughter had to witness it only made matters worse for the vet.

“My daughter was there the entire time,” Jackel said. “It got so frustrating that I broke down in front of her and cried.”
The park said the policy was necessary to ensure everyone’s safety.
But Jackel said he was never made aware of the requirement, even though he was wearing shorts when he purchased the tickets.
Adding to his frustration, the former sergeant said the park offered free tickets for another day instead of a refund — a useless gesture, he said.
Six Flags later told KMOV that they’ll work with Jackel to refund his money.
