U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., leveled the disturbing accusation on Tuesday that the Central Intelligence Agency is spying on Congress.
Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Feinstein said the CIA secretly removed classified documents from computers used by the committee in the middle of an oversight investigation, CNN reported.
The investigation referenced is a still? ongoing look into the CIA’s detention and interrogation programs under President George W. Bush.

“The CIA did not ask the committee or its staff if the committee had access to the internal review or how we obtained it,” Feinstein said on the Senate floor.” Instead, the CIA just went and searched the committee’s computer.”
Feinstein said she had “grave concerns” that the agency had “violated the separation-of-powers principles embodied in the United States Constitution,” according to CNN.
“I have asked for an apology and a recognition that this CIA search of computers used by its oversight committee was inappropriate,” she said. “I have received neither.”
Within hours, CIA Director John Brennan disputed the accusations, saying “when the facts come out on this, I think a lot of people who are claiming that there has been this tremendous sort of spying and monitoring and hacking will be proved wrong,” according to the Washington Post.
Always quick to react when potential threats hit close to home, Republican colleague U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham said if the allegations are substantiated, then “heads should roll, people should go to jail… the legislative branch should declare war on the CIA, if it’s true.”
If we could just see such passion when it’s the America people being targeted by the NSA.
